Under the sea
99% of internet traffic and intercontinental communications are carried via submarine cables. To offer high-quality and enriched connectivity around the world, we are ambitious in our submarine investments, which amount to more than 40 submarine cables and international consortia. This represents 450,000 kilometers of submarine cable, enough to circumnavigate the planet ten times over.
Through Orange Marine, we also fund, lay, maintain, and repair submarine cables, with 230,000 km of fiber optic submarine cables laid to date.

At the Tour de France!
For the 23rd year running, we’re broadcasting the Tour around the world and guaranteeing the smooth running of this iconic event. More than 50 experts and technicians are involved at each stage and 450 technicians and supervisors work in the back office. 34 km of cables are deployed at the finish line during the event.
We are also strengthening local network coverage for the regions hosting the Tour de France, with 4G coverage in 637 municipalities and 30 host towns and a further 10 host towns benefiting from 5G. We’re also boosting connectivity via 8 4G and 5G mobile relays. This year we’re excited to provide network coverage to the first ever women’s Tour.
